Helicopter Flight Training Sponsors

Seattle, WA (March 2018) – one-G simulation, a flight simulation company, is now offering an expanded list of available features for its popular Torrance 44 ATP™ (Augmented Training Platform) including Search And Rescue (SAR), Heads Up Display (HUD), Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR), tunnel-in-the-sky, longline and night vision goggle emulations. The Torrance 44™ is a cutting-edge training device based on the Robinson 44 ®, which merges Virtual Reality technology with flight simulation, creating a highly immersive augmented reality flight deck.

Since debuting the Torrance 44™ at the 2017 EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, one-G simulation has been working directly with its customers to create a robust set of available features related to specific skills training that may be effectively performed with the device. The development of these expanded features began last year with longline training, and has since evolved to include numerous other Head Mounted Display (HMD) options.

“The Torrance 44™ ATP is the ideal device on which to execute specific advanced skills training. Its Virtual Reality technology allows the pilot to experience a positive transfer of learning in each of the specific skills because the 360 degree field of view is equivalent to that of the actual aircraft,” says one-G CEO Xylon Saltzman. “Our customers told us what they wanted in a helicopter training device, and we’re thrilled to be offering these additional features as options on new deliveries. Now the Torrance 44™ goes well beyond being a fundamental trainer by additionally addressing the training needs of the advanced rotorcraft pilot.”

Based on recent feedback at the HAI Heli-Expo 2018, one-G anticipates that these new features will be of great use to many operators, including within the military, government and commercial sectors.  For further information or to schedule a flight demo, contact Dave Rider at drider@flyone-g.com
