Elevated Helipad Enhances Training for Air Evac Lifeteam Pilots

It sits in an open field, a steel structure that stretches 22-feet to the sky. From afar, it hardly resembles anything that would be suitable for a helicopter, much less as a landing zone. NEMSPA Submits Detailed Comments on FAA NPRM

The National EMS Pilots Association has submitted a 22-page position paper on the FAA Notice of Proposed Rule Making pertaining to helicopter air ambulance operations. January 10 was the deadline for the public submission of comments on the proposed changes to FAR Part 135. The new rules, if implemented as proposed without modification, will be the most far reaching changes to Part 135 of the Federal Aviation Regulations in recent history. The FAA’s proposal includes provisions that apply specifically to helicopter air ambulance operations, as well as rules that will affect all commercial helicopter operations.

NVG SAFETY.COM RESPONDS TO FAA BULLETIN ON NIGHT VISION SYSTEM (NVIS) MAINTENANCE

Port St. Lucie, FL (December 17, 2010) — On Dec 15, 2010 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) released a key Safety Alert For Operators (SAFO 10022) to notify operators of aircraft equipped with a Night Vision Imaging System (NVIS) of potential deficiencies in the configuration and condition of installed NVIS equipment.
