NTSB Preliminary Report: Bloomsburg, PA

On September 28, 2019, about 1930 eastern daylight time, an Enstrom F-28F helicopter, N380SH, was substantially damaged when it impacted terrain and vehicles during an approach to a helipad at the Bloomsburg Fair in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania. The commercial pilot sustained serious injuries and the two passengers sustained minor injuries. The helicopter was operated by J&J Shop HeliAir LLC. under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 as a local sightseeing flight. Night visual meteorological conditions prevailed, and no flight plan was filed for the local flight that originated about 1920.

On September 17, 2019, about 1230 eastern daylight time, a Robinson R44, N827JE, operated by Rowland Air Chem LLC, was substantially damaged during a forced landing near Sardis, Georgia. The commercial pilot was seriously injured. The aerial application flight was conducted under the provisions of Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 137. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed and no flight plan was filed for the local flight that departing a staging area in Sardis, Georgia, about 1220.

Frasca RTDs Receive CASA Approval in Australia

September 16, 2019 Urbana, IL. - Frasca International, Inc. has received Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) approval on their RTD™ (Reconfigurable Training Device) as a category B synthetic trainer. Three FRASCA RTDs have been delivered to CAE for use at CAE Melbourne and CAE Tamworth training facilities in Australia. The three RTDs are reconfigurable between the Cessna 172 and Piper Seminole, all with G1000 NXi Avionics and feature a three-channel visual system.

LCI LAUNCHES FIRST HELICOPTER CO-INVESTMENT VEHICLE

17th October, 2019: LCI, a leading helicopter lessor and the aviation division of the Libra Group, has launched its first ever helicopter co-investment vehicle. The new helicopter ownership vehicle contains five aircraft all on long-term lease – three Leonardo AW139 and two Sikorsky S-92 units – and is valued at over US$100 million. It has been launched in partnership with Flexam Tangible Asset Income Fund (part of Flexam Invest Group), who have also contributed to the capitalisation. Thales completes Airbus H145 Full Flight Simulator for Helisim training center in Texas

Grand Prairie, Texas – 23 October 2019 – Thales has completed the production of a new H145 Level D Full Flight Simulator that will be installed in the Helisim Simulation Center now under construction at the headquarters of Airbus Helicopters Inc. in Grand Prairie, Texas. Upon completion of factory acceptance testing, the simulator is now going to be disassembled for shipment to Texas. Simulation center construction, installation of the H145 simulator, and Federal Aviation Administration certification are expected to be completed in Q2 2020.
