GA-ASI Honors Curtiss-Wright Defense Solutions as a Supplier of the Year

Ashburn, Va. – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division, a trusted leading supplier of rugged commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) embedded processing technology, today announced that it received a Supplier of the Year Award from General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI), a leading manufacturer of Remotely Piloted Aircraft (RPA) systems, tactical reconnaissance radars, and electro-optic and related mission systems solutions. The award, which recognizes outstanding quality and delivery performance, was announced at GA-ASI’s annual Supplier Performance Awards on April 29, 2019. GA-ASI presents its Supplier of the Year Award to companies achieving 100% quality and on-time delivery performance for calendar year 2018.

Curtiss-Wright Introduces New Rugged Network Attached Storage with Type 1 Encryption for Unattended Operations

ASHBURN, Va. – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced its new Unattended Network Storage (UNS) system, a rugged network attached storage (NAS) solution that provides Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) encryption to protect critical data-at-rest (DAR) on unmanned deployed platforms. As the number of sensors on unmanned intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) platforms – such as UAV, UUV, USV, and UGVs – continues to proliferate, the challenge of protecting the critical data collected and stored on those platforms has grown in significance. The UNS prevents unauthorized access to classified information in the event that the unattended platform is lost or stolen. It uses a DAR Type-1 encryptor that is planned to be certified for unattended operations of classified data Top Secret and below. The UNS provides system integrators with a fully rugged off-the-shelf solution that significantly lowers costs and program risk while speeding time to deployment.

Curtiss-Wright to Provide Sikorsky with Air Data Computers and Windshield Anti-Ice Controllers

HELI-EXPO 2018 - Las Vegas, Nevada (Booth #C854) – February 27, 2018 -- Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division today announced that it was awarded a contract by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT) company, to provide its Air Data Computer (ADC) and Windshield Anti-Ice Controller (WAIC) technology for use on multiple variants of the Black Hawk helicopter delivered to the U.S. Army and Foreign Military Sales (FMS) customers.

Curtiss-Wright Fortress™ EUROCAE ED-112A Flight Data Recorders Released with Safety of Flight Approval

ASHBURN, Va. – January 30, 2018 – Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division has announced that its Fortress™ family of flight data recorders has been qualified for Safety of Flight release. Fortress meets the requirements set forth by the EUROCAE ED-112A “Minimum Operational Performance Specification for Crash Protected Airborne Recorder Systems” standard. Safety of Flight environmental qualification tests validate the ruggedness, operating temperature range and mitigation of problematic EMC emissions during operation. The successful completion of these critical tests results in a preliminary Declaration of Design and Performance (DDP) document identifying the results which is recognized and signed by an EASA representative thus enabling the Fortress to be used for flight test applications.
