One step closer: NASA and Collins Aerospace advance technology for safe operation of unmanned aircraft in the National Airspace System

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Collins Aerospace Systems, a unit of United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX), is entering the final stages of a nine-year project with NASA to enable unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to operate safely in the National Airspace System (NAS). The project, co-funded by Collins Aerospace and which is expected to be completed in Sept. 2020, has facilitated the development of a Command Non-Payload Control (CNPC) data link waveform that informed the initial certification standards for UAS Command and Control in the NAS.

NASA places order for three Airbus H135 helicopters

Anaheim, 28 January 2020 – The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has placed an order for three H135 helicopters, marking the first-ever partnership between the U.S. space program and Airbus Helicopters. The order was announced today at the Airbus booth at the Heli Expo Trade show in Anaheim, California.
