Atlanta, – Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT) issued a beta version of its iFly Sikorsky™ performance calculator for the S-70i™ Black Hawk® helicopter. Available from the Apple Store as an iPad tablet app, iFly Sikorsky gives S-70i administrators, pilots and mission planners a quick and easy method to configure aircraft cabin layout and installed mission equipment; calculate aircraft weight and balance; access weather data; review takeoff, landing, and cruise profiles; predict aircraft performance during each phase of flight; and determine range relative to aircraft position and intended destination.

Sikorsky Receives FAA Type Certification In The Restricted Category For The S-70M Black Hawk Helicopter

Atlanta, - Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT) received a type certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certifying that the S-70M Black Hawk helicopter design meets the applicable airworthiness requirements in the Restricted Category. The type certificate will allow Sikorsky to request authorization from the FAA to produce S-70M aircraft for the following special purpose operations increasingly requested by the growing civil helicopter market: external cargo, agriculture operations, and forest and wildlife conservation.

Sikorsky Flies Black Hawk With Optionally Piloted Vehicle Technology

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla., June 6, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- A technology kit developed by Sikorsky, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT), was used for the first time to operate a Black Hawk helicopter with full-authority, fly-by-wire flight controls. The May 29 flight marked the official start to the flight test program for the soon-to-be optionally piloted aircraft. Follow-on flight testing aims to include envelope expansion throughout the summer leading to fully autonomous flight (zero pilots) in 2020.

PZL Mielec Displays Single-Station Stores Pylon For Armed Black Hawk

KIELCE, Poland, -- During the MSPO International Defence Industry Exhibition, PZL Mielec, a Lockheed Martin company (NYSE: LMT) displayed an S-70i™ Armed Black Hawk® helicopter fitted with a single-station external stores pylon. Designed at PZL Mielec as a lighter weight, lower cost alternative to currently fielded dual-station external wings, a single-station pylon attached to one or both sides of the aircraft will be compatible with the advanced weapon system that allows Black Hawk pilot gunners to support battlefield operations using forward firing guns, rockets and air-to-ground missiles.
