The high altitude flight campaign of the new H145 starts in Chile

Santiago de Chile - The prototype of the five-bladed H145, which Airbus Helicopters unveiled at Heli-Expo in Atlanta last March, has just arrived in Chile where the aircraft will start a high altitude flight campaign. EASA certification is expected in early 2020, with deliveries following later that year.

EASA STC for DART’s R66 Emergency Float System

Hawkesbury, Ontario - Recently, DART received a European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification on its R66 Emergency Float System. This float system, designed and manufactured by DART, is an aftermarket retrofit option available for R66 operators that allows the aircraft to safely perform over-water operations. The system can be easily retrofitted on the R66 aircraft and is designed with multi air-holding chambers.

EASA approves FLARM for helicopters

EASA has formally approved FLARM for fixed installation in helicopters. Being already installed in over 40,000 General Aviation aircraft, helicopter operators previously had to apply for individual installation approvals from EASA or use PowerFLARM Portable. The newly published EASA Certification Memorandum (CM) extends generic FLARM installations from ELA2 aircraft (previously available as a Standard Change or an AML-based Minor Change) to all CS‑23, CS‑27 and CS‑29 aircraft, including all rotorcraft.

Becker EASA certification submittal for TCAS II compatible, ADS-B Transponder

October 16, 2018 – Rheinmünster, Germany - Avionics innovator and digital technology provider Becker has submitted for EASA certification the company BXT6500 family’s latest version Mode S transponder, designed specifically for full interoperability with existing TCAS II systems, as well as ADS-B compliant. CAAS, EASA and Airbus collaborate to advance safety of unmanned aircraft systems in urban environment

Marignane, The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS), the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and Airbus have agreed to collaborate in the development of safety standards and regulatory requirements for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) in urban environments. The tripartite Project Document, which lays out the areas of collaboration, was signed by representatives from CAAS, EASA and Airbus.
