LEONARDO-FINMECCANICA: PAKISTAN SELECTS THE AW139 FOR SAR ROLE

Leonardo-Finmeccanica announced today that Government of Pakistan has signed a contract for an undisclosed number of AgustaWestland AW139 intermediate twin engine helicopters. The signing was held in Islamabad in presence of the H.E. Italian Ambassador Stefano Pontecorvo. The contract is part of a fleet renewal programme spread over several batches including a logistic support and training package. The AW139s, deliveries of which are expected in 2017, will be used to perform search and rescue across the nation.

Jerry Trimble Helicopters Offers Prize Money at Autorotation Contest

The 6th Annual Touchdown Autorotation competition will be held on June 26, 2016 at Jerry Trimble Helicopters (JTH). The contest begins at 10:00, and an all-you-can eat pancake breakfast is offered at 07:00. The cost to enter is $75, and includes a Robinson R22 helicopter to use in the contest. A $5 donation will be made to the local charity of the pilot’s choice with the purchase of each admission.

Air Methods Reopens West Yellowstone Base, Year Round

DENVER, May 24, 2016 – Air Methods announces the reopening of the air medical helicopter base serving the greater Yellowstone, Wyoming region. In conjunction with Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center (EIRMC), the Air Idaho Rescue program extends care to Yellowstone National Park, Grand Teton National Park, the Gallatin National Forest and the Madison River valley. The seasonal base officially commenced year round operations on May 23, with service 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

LEONARDO-FINMECCANICA EXPANDS THE RANGE OF NEW GENERATION HELICOPTERS DISTRIBUTED IN TURKEY

Leonardo-Finmeccanica announced today the renovation of the Distributorship Agreement with Kaan Air of Turkey covering a range of models spanning from 2.8 to 7 tonne encompassing the AW119 single engine, the GrandNew light twin and the AW139 intermediate twin. The Agreement is now further extended to include the new generation AW169 4.6 tonne and the AW189 8.3/8.6 helicopter types. The announcement was made during an official ceremony held at EBACE 2016 (Geneva, 24th – 26th May).
