Please note: if you are intending to file for assistance from the Payroll Support Program, you should submit your application by 5:00 pm EDT today, April 3.
The US Treasury Department just released updated guidance on applying for the Payroll Support Program for Air Carriers. This program, authorized by the Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act (CARES Act), provides up to $25 billion in payroll support to air carriers, so they can continue to pay employee wages, salaries, and benefits.
New Application Process
The Treasury Department has modified the application process.
After 9:00 pm EDT on April 2, applicants should no longer submit applications by email. All applicants who have not already submitted an application by email should instead apply for Payroll Support using the Treasury Department’s online application tool.
Applications should be submitted by 5:00 p.m. EDT today, April 3, to ensure the most immediate consideration.
Treasury will continue to accept applications until 11:59 pm EDT on April 27, 2020. However, applications submitted after April 3 may receive less immediate consideration. Applications received after April 27, 2020, may or may not be considered, at the discretion of the Treasury Department and subject to the availability of funds.
To answer any questions you may have about applying for the Payroll Support Program, the Treasury Department has prepared a list of frequently asked questions about eligibility, requirements, and other guidelines.
