The Bell AH-1Z Viper continues to showcase its maneuverability, whether in a maritime environment or onshore. A few months ago, the U.S. Marine Corps demonstrated the power of this attack helicopter through exercise "Viper Storm."
"In a powerful demonstration of aviation lethality, 12 AH-1Z Viper attack helicopters proved their worth during a complex training event that combined sea based principles with expeditionary operations and live-fire engagements," according to Second Line of Defense.
During production, Bell marinizes this platform to give our customers an advantage during seaborne operations and reduce overall cost of maintenance.
“Viper Storm was an opportunity to validate the modern maritime capabilities of the AH-1Z Viper to joint commanders within the Department of Defense, United States partners and allies, and potential peer adversaries. We were highlighting the maritime component of the Viper, the ability to go from ship-to-shore in a large element and address peer threats.” Col. William Bartolomea, commanding officer, MAG-39.
"The appearance of U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) visual information does not imply or constitute DoD endorsement." The DoD requests obscuring of all distinctive U.S. military markings (e.g., military emblems, rank insignia, tail or hull number, unit insignia, Service name) and other indicia that could connote DoD endorsement from DoD aircraft, missiles, ships, and other hardware or uniforms that may be used in any marketing or advertising campaign, to include any collateral products.
